Following his graduation from Boğaziçi University, Department of Business Administration in 1986, he worked as a department manager at Anadolu Kredi Kartları A.Ş. and then in the Treasury Departments of Standard Chartered Bank in Istanbul and Westdeutsche Landesbank in Istanbul and Moscow.
Between 1998 and 2002, he worked as Treasury Department Manager at Egebank and “Birleşik Sümerbank” and as a consultant to the SDIF on the transfer of deposits in banks and the resolution of problematic loans.
Mr. Ağaoğlu assumed consultancy responsibilities for various institutions on managing their risks in financial markets. He is currently working as CFO Advisor after working as Treasury Group Director at Socar Turkey, which he joined in 2015.
Between 2007-2020, he lectured on financial markets at Kültür University, Department of Economics.
Between 2009 and 2013 he was the Editor-in-Chief of Fortune Turkey.
Ağaoğlu, who commented on financial markets at CBNB-e between 2010-2013 and BloombergHT between 2014-2018, has been a columnist and commentator on developments in financial markets since 2004 at Vatan, Milliyet and Dünya, as well as the newspaper Nasıl Bir Ekonomi.
He also broadcasts on YouTube broadcasts and BloombergHT TV.
He is married and has a daughter.
